Meet Our New Sports Therapist, Jack Underwood

July 31st 2024

The Care For Health Family are delighted to welcome Jack to the the team.

We thought you might like to know a bit more about him, so read on for a little Q & A session.

Q. Why did you become a Sports Therapist?

A.    I was always sporty growing up, with my favourite sport being football. Growing up I
always thought I would want to work in and around a sporting environment. So sports
therapy sounded like the perfect degree to do. Since graduating I have grown to
love clinical work and there is no better satisfaction then helping someone get
back to what they love doing. I currently work for Petersfield FC and enjoy
working in a sporting environment.

Q. When did you first feel like an adult?

A. WHEN I FOUND A GREY HAIR!!!!!!!!!

Q. Which actor would you choose to play you in a biopic?

A. Leonardo Di Caprio, he’s not as good looking, but he’ll do!

Q. What’s the best place you have ever travelled to?

A. That’s tough, my favourite holiday destination is Ibiza, because I like the atmosphere, the weather, the vibes, and the music. However, I think the best city break I have ever been on was when my girlfriend and I went to Prague. Even though it was freezing cold and snowed on our last day, it was the most beautiful place, with amazing buildings, narrow cobbled streets and most importantly, cheap beer and food ( didn’t fancy trying the goulash though!!).

Q. If your pet could talk, what do you think they might say about you?

A. Something along the lines of, “Jack is great, however, when he has a sausage sandwich for some reason he thinks I only want the small bit of crust that he doesn’t want. Weird I know, because he should know just to make me my own sandwich, I’d like that!” – Scruffy the Jack Russell ( who sadly passed in 2019).

Q. Have you ever met a celebrity? Which celebrity would you like to meet?

A. No, I haven’t met a celebrity, but I would love to meet Cristiano Ronaldo, as he was my idol growing up. However, as I’m writing this I’m quite hungry so Gordon Ramsay would be a good shout, as long as he’s cooking breakfast of course!!!

Q. What’s the worst outfit you ever wore?

A. Back in the days of primary school, I was OBSESSED with Peter Pan, so for world book day I went as Captain Hook!

Q. What makes you happiest?

A. There are too many things that make me so happy to just choose one!!! I love the feeling of looking after myself and being active and healthy, as well as being able to make a difference to other peoples’ lives. I also love to travel and see new places, so that feeling of booking a holiday or a city break is amazing, or that first airport beer. Of course spending time with my family, girlfriend and friends. My cousin and three of my friends have just had little ones, so to spend time with them and be part of their lives, and see them smile is an amazing feeling.

Q. If you could switch lives with any one person for one day, who would you choose?

A. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to swap with any of the babies I mentioned previously. I would be so amused to know what goes on in their heads!!

Q. What is the last book you read?

A. The Psychology of Money – I would recommend this book to everyone in the world. It holds some amazing lessons in finance, happiness and life. I would rate it 11 out of 10!!!!!

I’m so looking forward to meeting you all, come in and say hello anytime.
